COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROJECTS
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROJECTS

Although our priority is education, we support the families of our school in times of emergency.During COVID, we provided food, essential supplies, and access to online classes for students without an internet connection.

In Honduras, hurricanes and torrential rains impact especially rural communities near rivers, such as La Cuchilla, La Coroza, and La Alemania, where some of our students live in precarious conditions.

If a family loses their home, we provide basic necessities while they recover and work with organizations like Humanity and Hope to improve community infrastructure.

Additionally, we promote projects such as family gardens, literacy programs, and environmental care, helping families generate sustainable resources and protect their surroundings.

THE COMMUNITIES NEED US

Since the beginning, we have been working on projects that provide parallel support to the communities where our students live.

The Family Vegetable Gardens help our students' families gain some autonomy. Most families have land nearby, but the main challenge we face with this project is that heavy rains often destroy their crops.

In Community Assistance, it varies from year to year. However, most years, we have to support some of our students' families as they recover from flooding in their homes.

Psychological Assistance:With the support of volunteers, we usually conduct assessments of our students to understand their well-being, identify any challenges they may be facing, and provide help when needed.

Home Biogas is a biogas machine located at the school. We dispose of organic kitchen waste in it and recover gas that we then use for cooking.

Second-year high school students assist with literacy classes for people in the Camalote community (the community where the school is located) who need it.

In March 2022, we began supporting Ana, Kristina, and Natalia, a mother and her daughters who came from Kiev seeking refuge. The family now lives in Madrid, but we continue to assist them with housing arrangements.
